On the 8^th, 9^th and 10^th of October 2021 at hotel “Galini” in Kamena Vourla, the World Conference of Thermal Medicine held, according to the protection measures and protocols of National Public Health Organization, with physical

Internationally established physicians participated and informed about the latest scientific data and developments in Thermal Medicine for its contribution to public health, with lectures, workshops and round table discussions. The 2^nd World Conference on Thermal Medicine organized with global medical participation in collaboration with the European University of Cyprus and co-organized by the Regions of Attica and Central Greece and the Cultural Development Organization of Central Greece.

The President of the Hellenic Academy of Thermal Medicine, Professor Mr. K. Kouskoukis, analyzed the contribution of the Academy to public health by reviving the spirit of Hippocrates, and highlighted that Greece has to be a therapeutic and modern educational center of Thermal Medicine and Classic Medicine. Thermal Medicine, with the scientific documentation supports the thermal, mechanical, chemical and particularly the biological and immunological effects of the thermal natural resources, emerged as a complementary therapeutic method in the therapeutic range of classical medicine.

Thermal Medicine as a complementary therapy helps in the treatment, rehabilitation and recovery of physical, mental and spiritual health but also preventively, treating silver & golden age, by applying longevity and well-being standards, as a preventive method. In particular, Thermal Medicine has been shown to have therapeutic effects in diseases of the myoskeletical, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, hematopoietic gastroenterological, urological and endocrine system as well as in dermatological, gynecological, allergic and otorhinolaryngologic ailments.

Mr. Oikonomou Ioannis Governmental Representative, Deputy Minister to Prime Minister during his speech clearly declared the intense interest of the Government for the developmental prospects in Thermal springs and Thermal Medicine.

Attica Regional governor President AMA, G.D.H.l, IHTC, ELITOUR and Founding Member of the Hellenic Academy of Thermal Medicine George Patoulis in his speech developed the importance of reviving the spirit of Hippocrates establishing internationally the Thermal Medicine and he strongly suggested that Greece has to be the top Thermal Destination in the world map and emphasized that Attica must become the Metropolis of health and wellness.
