George Kassaras is a Surgeon, Air Force Brigadier General (EA). He is a graduate of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Military School of Officers (SSAS). He holds a PhD from the University of Athens and also, a postgraduate degree in "Health Care Units Management". He has been trained as a specialist doctor in hospitals in England, Switzerland and the USA.

He was the Director of the First Surgery Clinic and later, the Director of the Surgical Department of the 251 General Aviation Hospital. He is the President of the Disciplinary Council of the Medical Association of Athens. He works as a freelance Doctor.
