The event presented the goals of the Global Doctors' Hippocratic Institute for the international promotion of the ecumenical character of Hippocrates Medical Science and Thought, as well as the actions for networking Greek and international medical scientists under the Hippocratic roof.
The two-day conference was organized by the Medical Association of Athens, the Central Union of Municipalities and the Medical Tourism Department of the Scientific Research Institute of the Panhellenic Medical Association, in collaboration with the Hellenic Major Community, in Montreal, Canada. The President of the Hellenic Medical Association of Quebec, Christos Karatzios, expressed his full support and cooperation with the goals of the Global Hippocratic Doctors Institute, signing the Twinning Pact "Cooperation and harmony" with the Medical Association of Athens. The same goes for the President of the Federation of Greek Medical Associations of North America, Spyros Mezitis, giving a resounding "present" representing the Greek Doctors of the Greek Diaspora in North America.
In his speech, the President of the Global Doctors' Hippocratic Institute, George Patoulis, stated, among other things: "The Global Doctors' Hippocratic Institute is an initiative of a group of visionary Greek Physicians of the Hippocratic concept in the international medical community aiming at the promotion and revival of the Hippocratic philosophy in the international medica field. Through the Institute, we aim to create great opportunities and possibilities for the world’s medical staff, to interact with Greece, the homeland of Hippocrates, father of World Medicine. The interconnection of doctors from all over the world, will create a global network with huge potential, under a common roof."
